Boxycharm July 2017

First off, what is Boxycharm? Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box that features 5 full sized products. The cost of a box is $21 on the monthly subscription (discount on longer subs). The value of each box is always well over what you pay. Average value is $100 on the low end, but I have had boxes worth around $150+ in the past.
Here is my referral link, it gives me points if you sign up:
https://boxycharm.com/refer/Heath-LAOTSDBT

Every month Boxycharm has a theme. This month the theme for Boxycharm was "Cutie Pie."
This month my box was worth $127! Which is very impressive.
I received 5 full sized products:

1. Colourpop Ultra MAtte Lip in the shade "Beeper" - $6
I actually was extremely happy that I received this, I ADORE the Ultra Matte Lip formula. I was extremely happy that I got a shade I have not purchased on my own yet. The formula is long lasting and transfer proof once dry. If you properly care for your lips the formula should work for you.
*** I actually prefer to use my Lip Revival by Beauty for Real mentioned in another blog post before using these, oh did I mention I got that in Decembers Boxycharm?***

2. Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil - $12
I have not used this on my brows yet, my reason being that when I swatched it, it was a bit light of a color. I have dark hair and dark eyebrows so a light shade is not ideal for me. I also don't really like the triangle shape of it. I will still at least attempt to use it.

3. Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo by BareMinerals - $32
I never used translucent powders, they never seemed to work. But it being 90 degrees out made me give this a chance. I am so glad I received this! It works wonders, my makeup stayed on my face all day. I apply the Matte shade to my nose, forehead, and on my cheek area closest to my nose. This is where I sweat on my face the most. This powder actually made those areas not sweat as bad? Idk if thats a usual result but I LOVE it. I havent really felt the need for the glow side because I like a strong blinding glow, however I suppose I can set my highlight with it!

4. Spray, Set, Go Makeup Setting Spray By Project Beauty- $32
I have tried a few setting sprays and swore they did nothing. I did however try this one. It has a light scent that I kinda like, I am unsure of how to describe it. I used it on a hot humid day and believe it or not my face stayed put all day! It is like freaking magic! I am now one of those girls that sets her face!
5. Electric Eyes Palette by Blinc -$45
This palette has 5 "jewel toned" shades. They are ridiculously pigmented, like I am serious, a little goes a long way! Mine came broken in the mail (due to postal carriers and the shadow being so buttery and soft) Boxycharm will send me a replacement hassle free =]. Anyways this is honestly a very amazing palette to have, but you might want another palette handy if you like combining shimmers with mattes.
Okay Now the good part. The Swatches!
Top 5 Shades from the Blinc Palettte, Beeper, Unibrow
These pictures do no justice to how gorgeous and sparkly the Blinc Shadows really are, for that I am sorry, I only had indirect natural lighting available.

Do you think that Boxycharm is worth $21 ? I know I do!

The Miracle in A Jar

I know, the title seems a bit crazy. However, the product I am going to tell you about is seriously a miracle. Before I tell you what it is though I want to tell you about the horror my lips experienced.
A few months back, I realized that my lips felt horrible one day. I woke up and they were so chapped! they were even chapped on the skin around my lips. I thought I was dehydrated, but after drinking a TON of water realized that was not the case at all. I actually had a severe reaction to a lipstick! I tried chapstick, Carmex, and medicated Vaseline, nothing was helping. Now here comes the gross part... the picture...
This is what my lips looked like for two weeks. It was so miserable! Then I realized that I could try something else. Exfoliating my lips! I knew I had a product that I had used before when my lips were a bit chapped in winter, so I pulled it out.
The product? Beauty For Real Lip Revival.  It is an exfoliating + hydrating lip scrub. It is a cruelty free lip scrub that contains sugar, cinnamon bark, orange, and vanilla essential oils. Oh and it is so delicious (it may slightly get in my mouth when I use it at times).

Anyways back to my horrible lips! I used this scrub and my lips felt and looked better after one use!  Here is the picture from after one use.

After having the pretty good results I continued to use the Lip revival. I used it for another 3 days and my lips looked like this.
They were starting to be hydrated again. Yes they look a bit plump and maybe swollen, but they were so much better! So I used the scrub for another 2 days. Here is my result.
My lips were better! The only part that took a little longer was the skin around my lips because I could not exactly use the scrub effectively there, and the corners of my lips, because they would get moist then dry again in my sleep, but that is not my point here.  This Lip Revival literally revived my lips. This is why I call it a miracle in a jar. Now this is an extreme case. I wanted you to see what magic this stuff can really do.  Now I use this religiously! I use it before applying my liquid matte lipsticks for a flawless finish. I use it when my lips are a tad chapped. I use it when I want to apply a deep moisturizing lip product. It is something that you really need in your life. No other lip scrub has come close!

P.s. I am so sorry for the picture quality, I had taken these on my front facing camera in low lighting to send to my husband.

Skin Care First Impressions : Garnier Skin Active and 7th Heaven Black- Seaweed Peel-Off

So yesterday my good friend Meagan told me I should pick up this cleanser she had been using.  The cleanser she suggested is the "new"  Garnier Skin Active : The Gentle Sulfate Free Cleanser. I happened to go to Wal-mart today with my sister and they had it in stock (which is surprising because our local Wal-Mart runs out of everything). While I was looking around the skin care section I also noticed these 7th Heaven Black Seaweed Peel-Off masks for just a little over $1. So I decided why not!  I used both products tonight and wanted to share my first impressions.

Garnier Skin Active : The Gentle Sulfate Free Cleanser
The bottle has loads of information on the front, which is a little different.
It reads:
"Gently foams to remove oil, impurities & makeup for soft healthier-looking skin. All skin-types, even sensitive skin. NO sulfates, oil, soap, alcohol, fragrance. Dermatologist tested for gentleness" The reverse says that this is a foaming lotion that cleanses and that it is safe for AM and PM use. This intrigues a sensitive, hive-prone skinned girl like myself.
Now onto the good stuff, my opinions....that was a joke. The cleanser is pretty thin and does not have much of a scent, which was expected. It actually does not foam as much as I expected after reading the bottle. But that isn't a bad thing, I don't like overly foaming face washes.  Now rinsing it off, that was a lot harder then I expected. I had to rinse repeatedly for like 2 minutes to get all of it off! Definitely a cleanser I would use in the shower for ease.  After it was finally rinsed off I patted my face dry with a towel as directed. My face felt so clean! But not that annoying, tight, dry skin clean that sometimes occurs with products.  So overall this gave a very good first impression! I will keep using this and see how the long term effects are. Based on the first use I would suggest it, but remember skin products typically take more then one use to show their true results.

7th Heaven Black Seaweed Peel-Off Deep Pore Detox Easy Peel Mask
The front of the packaging is short and sweet. The back is FULL of information. This mask has Crushed Sea Salt, Pressed Sea Buckthorn, and Laver Seaweed (only one of these means anything to me to be honest  ahahaha). Anywho, back to what I was saying, these ingredients together cleanse and purify to leave your skin feeling new. It also states that regular use will clear away excess sebum. My favorite part about this? " We're Vegetarian and animals are our friends, that's why we don't bash bunnies or add bits of animals!" This product is PETA Cruelty -Free and Vegetarian Society approved.

I used this according to the directions, the first step was to cleanse your face before use which I did above =]

So when I first felt the package I thought there was no way there would be enough in it to actually cover my face and peel off in one piece. But there actually was plenty! The mask sort of feels like it has a cooling effect when it is first applied. You apply it in an even layer and let it dry completely for 20-25 minutes. It is true to its drying time. Then you peel that bad boy off! I have used peel off masks before and they make me tear up EVERYTIME. However, this one did not! it isn't one of those "I am going to stick to your skin so tight that I tear out all of that peach fuzz and those blackheads to gross you out" masks. It just comes right off. However it did stain my face grey, so I wiped it clean with a wet cloth.  My cheeks feel so soft and wonderful! I also had this huge zit and it is like 10x smaller now and is no longer hurting! Its practically gone. So this mask is a big win for me and I definitely say buy it and try it for yourself!

Here is the mask after I removed it, you can't see grossness but it comes off so easy ! After this mask I applied my night time moisturizer and called it good to go.

Thank you for taking your time and reading this First Impressions review.

Maybelline Brow Drama

Today I want to give you my full review of 2 brow products from Maybelline. Please be aware that I received these free from Influenster for testing purposes. However, these views and opinions are my own (if you want to check out influenster for yourself I have a link on my contact page).

I received:
Maybelline Browdrama Shaping Chalk Powder in shade 120, medium Brown
Maybelline Browprecise Micro Crayon in the shade Auburn

Maybelline Browprecise Micro Crayon:
The fist item I tried was the Micro Crayon. It has a very precise tip and isn't too soft. It provides a great pigmentation. However, this is not my color at all. But overall it is a great drug store brand pencil. I do recommend checking it out as an alternative to pricier brow pencils.

 Maybelline Browdrama Shaping Chalk Powder:
Here is a video showing what happens when you open the Chalk Powder. I also wanted to show how the applicator works.
So did you notice the fallout? There is quite a bit with this product just from even opening the container. That is a big issue for me, but it is important to see how the product applies before deciding whether or not it is a quality product that I would suggest. So what better way to do that then show you my results.

First here is my natural eyebrow (excuse my unedited natural skin lol):

Now, For this I used the Fat Side of the Applicator then turned it at the tail as the package suggests:
I absolutely hated the result. What do you think?
Now I didn't give up yet, here I tried just using the thin side of the applicator in hopes it would improve the product.

It still did not wow me at all... So I tried one last tactic. I used the Maybelline Browprecise Micro Crayon and a brush with the Brow Chalk.

Here are my results
In this combination, my brows don't look horrible, but obviously these are not the correct shade for me. So that is a big con. But the biggest con is the Chalk is meant to make brows easy and flawless, it does not do that, I would skip this product.

"Why Start a Blog?" Giveaway Announcement

When I first started my Instagram page it was because I loved sharing my products and my opinion of them. I soon realized that it is impossible to give a full thorough review in such a tiny space. So I started to think about creating a blog. So many things popped in my head that made me just give up on the thought. As my Instagram gained more followers I started getting more feedback in Direct Messages. I also started having people ask me for opinions and request more information. This made me realize that maybe I should follow through on this whole Blog Idea.  I really want my own domain, but that $16 a year is still out of reach at the moment (yeah it is not much, but the money can go elsewhere) .
