A Skincare Routine for Everyone on your List

Hey There, 

Welcome to my next edition of What Should (NOT) Be Under Your Tree This Year. Today I want to introduce an amazing, most definitely, SHOULD Be Under Your Tree Product line. What is it? Derma E skin care products. These are a huge must. I will elaborate.

   What Products Do I Use From Derma E?
   
   I use several Derma E products every day. They really have made a huge impact on the condition of my skin. I adore every product I have used by Derma E and constantly share their products with my family and friends. 
   My Current Skincare Routine is as follows:
   1. I cleanse my face using The Purifying Gel Cleanser ; which uses a blend of Activated Charcoal and other ingredients to cleanse your skin of sweat, oil, and other impurities leaving you with fresh feeling beautiful skin. I sweat a ton at work and have wind blowing so much ickyness at my skin that this is so important for me.
   2. Two times a week I  use the Purifying 2 in 1 Charcoal Mask . This is amazing stuff, you put it on, allow it to completely dry (about 5 minutes) get your fingers wet, rub in a circular motion and it EXFOLIATES. yup this mask is a purifying mask that doubles as an exfoliant. Crazy right! I also will apply a dab of it on any large painful zits, and it relieves so much pressure! The packaging does not anywhere suggest this use, I have just found that it works for me. Who doesn't love a multi-use product?
      
      
       
   3.  After I cleanse my face in the evening, okay I lied, it is at night. Like straight up 11 p.m. at the earliest, I use the Microdermabrasion Scrub. This product says use one or two times a week as well, but in all honesty I use it 3 or 4 times, it is that gentle and effective. I am not lying about how harsh the weather in North Dakota is on my poor skin. This helps keep my face looking refreshed and young, which I kinda am (24 is young right????). Anyways, this is gentle and feels so good when you rub in the tiny circular motion, I have to fight off the vultures in my house who I foolishly allowed to try it (aka my sister and my husband).
   4.  The most important part of my skincare routine is the moisturizing! For this I use the Radiant Glow Face Oil. I am so in love with this, I have 3 bottles (one is open, the other are my back stock). When I get out of the shower I apply three drops to my face, it instantly provides moisture and doesn't feel gross and oily ( despite the product name). I also use this before I apply my makeup. It looks glittery in the bottle, but applied it does not, it makes you look radiant and hydrated hence the name!........ Let me pause for a little story. My sister is always telling me her skin problems. Three weeks ago she came out of her room saying she kept breaking out and her skin was oily...blah blah blah. I grabbed my oil and told her to use it. Her face was priceless, she honestly looked at me as though I were an idiot because she had just said her face was oily. I then casually explained that you skin gets oily because it is overly dry and is attempting to moisturize itself. So she sighed her usual annoyed sigh and took it. A few days later, she still had not used it. So I got on my figurative step stool ( we are short women haha), and lectured her on not complaining if she would not accept my help. So FINALLY she tried the oil. No joke her skin changed COMPLETELY, it looks healthy and hydrated, and not oily at all, amazing what a little moisturizing can do for you.......Now back to me, I notice a huge difference when I go without this for a few days. I get oily and dry patches, it just sucks. I love this product more than I can explain and recommend it to everyone.

Huda Beauty WInter Solstice Mini Lip Strobe Kit

Hey there,
My second Item in my series is the Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Mini Lip Strobe Kit, it SHOULD NOT Be Under Your Tree This Year. I know you did not see that coming.

Well I know you want some details as to why I say this is a BIG FAT NO. But first lets get some information on these.
This kit retails for $33 on Sephora's website (which is where I purchased it) it comes with 4 Mini (they aren't lying at 0.0068 FL OZ).  It has lovely looking Icy shades. Here are my arm swatches.

Yes I know, They look great here right? BUT now here comes my reasons for it being a HARD NOPE.

1. When applied these go on looking thick and uneven, I spread them out to thin them in this swatch. 
2. They feel SUPER Gritty on the lip, which in a gloss type of product is just not appealing to me. 
3. They are so small! like I know Mini Lipsticks are, but for how expensive they are it is a rip off imo
4. The Biggest reason of all, they instantly burned on my lips. I rushed and took it off so fast, but it was too late. They damaged my lips, so they look way chapped and blistered =[ (my miracle in a jar is helping though).

Please remember this is my opinion and it is also my blog, but I am always honest about the items I try. These really are just not worth it. Yes they have lovely packaging, but if you aren't a Huda Collector or someone very wealthy, they realluy are not something that you need to pick up.Have you tried these? This was my first Huda Beauty Purchase and I am so dissatisfied, I had way high hopes for these. I did return them and picked up something else that I will show you in the future =]

Okay so of course you need my opinion on these, which is always honest. These are very good in flavor...for a supplement or vitamin kind of item. No it is not candy, so it does not taste like candy. I don't wish to have that misconception. They have a bit of a vitamin flavor, but it is super light and you can't really notice it too much. In comparison to you typical supplement these are delicious. They really do make a difference in your skin quality, but you should of course still use your moisturizers. But it is always so easy to forget that good skin starts from the inside! So it makes sense that these would help. If you have any questions I am happy to answer them.

Sorry I have been gone so long, Holiday time at the Post Office is a bit crazy! So I work a lot! However, it is Christmas/ Holiday time and a lot of brand new products get released this time of year. Now this wouldn't be complete if I wasn't able to give you a surprise! I am going to give you an exclusive look at some upcoming shades from an unannounced collection! They are gorgeous and would be magnificent in Fall! Here is a Mini eyeshadow Palette and Sweetheart lipstick from the mystery set!

I am sure you want to know more about this brand, so I will give you my opinions. The shadows are buttery and super pigmented. They blend so easily too, they are ideal for any skill level! There is a wide variety of shades in the collections making it Possible for anyone to find a product they love.

The lip products are great as well. My favorite is the Dependable formula. It is long lasting and really pigmented. It feels like the Ofra formula or the Tartiest Lip Paint formula, if you need a comparison.
The Brilliant formula is wonderful. I HATE glosses but this formula does not bother me at all. It is hydrating and not at all sticky! The color is buildable too! The Sweetheart Lipstick formula is a cream lipstick with a Semi-Matte finish, which is great for those who find mattes uncomfortable.

Colourpop Haul

I am completely in love with all things Colourpop. If you are not privy to this brand I will give you some important little details.

This is a photo of my recent haul. I will give details in this post on all but the Fem Rosa "She" and "I Think I Love You" Palettes because those will be in an upcoming review. I bought everything on sale but the 2 palettes.

Colourpop has 2 Types of Eyeshadow. They have Super Shock and Pressed. The Super Shock formula is in a jar like container that must be closed up tight so they don't dry out. They have a sort of creamy texture to them. The Pressed shadows come in pans that can be added to empty magnetic palettes for safe keeping.

This is the Mile High Super Shock shadow collection. Pictures do not do these justice. "So Quiche" has a purple glitter that is hard to capture in photo! I picked this up on sale for $12.50, there is 6 shadows total.The packaging is great too, it is a hard magnetic case that features a mirror inside.

I also snagged the Peachy Keen Super Shock Shadow quad. This quad has 3 mattes and one shimmer shade. It is a very cohesive collection that if used together an make a complete shadow look.

I also picked up 3 individual Super Shock Shadows that were on sale. They are more subtle shades perfect for everyday use.

Next are the individual Pressed eyeshadows I bought. Because I got 4 I received a free empty palette to keep them in. Freebie number one in my haul =]

Now onto my lip products. I Bought several types in this haul: Ultra Glossy Lip, Ultra Matte Lip, Lippie Stix, and Lippie Pencil.

Bare Minerals' New Bare Pro Liquid Foundation

Am I the only person who has issues finding a great foundation in the correct shade? Okay obviously I can possibly be the only one! Well I recently had the pleasure of receiving the Brand New Bare Pro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation by Bare Minerals for free from Influenster for testing purposes. Yes I got the product free but I promise this is my honest opinion of this foundation.

So let me tell you a bit about the product before I go into my opinion on it.
According to the card that came with my foundation this offers 24 -hour wear that improves the appearance of skin texture over time while blurring pores and imperfections. It also contains ingredients that are good for your skin such as Papaya Enzymes and Bamboo Stem Extract. This foundation is also humidity, water, and sweat resistant with non-chemical SPF 20! So what does that mean for you and me? There's ingredients to help protect our skin while keeping us looking flawless; rain or shine. kinda nifty right? This foundation line comes in 30 shades and has a natural matte finish.
Now lets move onto my favorite part... my opinion!

So before I received my foundation I had to choose a shade based on some pictures of the foundation which was pretty hard, since as I mentioned before I am terrible at choosing foundation! I chose the shade Camel 17. Above is a picture of it just straight applied and then of it blended into my wrist. Based on that you can see it looks maybe a bit too yellow. I went to Sephora and they matched me with Natural 11, in all honestly it blended in and felt a bit pale to me even though it did match. Anyways back to Camel 17! I am going to post a couple of pictures of me wearing it on one side of my face. Its a bit scary to do so. But you have to see how magical this formula is. The formula adjusts to your skin tone, so if you choose a shade that is wrong you did not necessarily waste your investment because the shade seems to shift and balance with your skin tone. Okay here goes nothing...

One side has the foundation the other does not.

So all that I have on here is one layer of Bare Pro in Camel 17.  What is amazing is my imperfections don't show up as vividly as the bare side and the "wrong match" matches!!! I am talking 6 shades off works for me! Crazy right?!

Now I wanted to show you that this formula builds to maximize coverage! The foundation covers and still looks completely natural ! I don't know about you but that is something I definitely love in a foundation! This foundation is way pigmented and a little goes a long way! I used half a pump on my whole face and got a great even  medium coverage. Remember its easier to build up your coverage to full from medium then to go the opposite route. It feels like you have nothing on your face which may trick you into thinking you need more. But trust me you do not. I highly recommend giving this a shot. If you don't want to drop $30 on a product you haven't tried just go to your local Sephora, get color matched and ask for a sample to try it out. Trust me though its an amazing formula. Another tip is to use a thick brush with this. Either the Bare Minerals Luxe Performance brush or an oval brush work very well. I find that my beauty blender does not work very well with this foundation because it doesn't blend it out right and makes me look a little cakey!

Cleansing Makeup with Ease

Makeup is  wonderful thing. It is an art form that can shared with everyone you see. However, there is something that we don't constantly share with everyone. The way that we remove that art from our faces and our tools. I have tried so many products for both of these tedious tasks. Finally, I have found a couple that I LOVE! Thanks to my Friend Carissa Murray. Carissa is a sales woman with a small business. What business? She sells Perfectly Posh. Yes I am sure we have all been messaged, followed, sometimes harassed by sales people with at home businesses. But Carissa is not like that at all. She introduced me to products I honestly enjoy without ever asking for anything in return.

Now to the fun part of this!  I will be showing you how I used 2 Perfectly Posh Products:
The Gender Bender Chunk and Bare it all Micellar Tonic

First up is Gender Bender. Gender bender is basically a chunk of soap that can be used for either gender hence it's name. It has a great indescribable smell that is appropriate for anyone. I used it to clean sponges and brushes. Watch in my videos! This bar is just a sample size! the full sized version is pretty big! These are less expensive and more effective then many brush cleansers. It suds so much that you can use the same suds left on your cleaning mat to clean 5 more brushes! That is just insane!

Then there is Bare it all. It is a micellar tonic. Perfect for removing any and all makeup from your face. It has a light scent to it. I show it being used to remove some Long lasting pigmented Ofra liquid lipsticks. Watch Below and be amazed at how easy you can take off makeup using just a cotton ball and Bare it All.

First off, what is Boxycharm? Boxycharm is a monthly subscription box that features 5 full sized products. The cost of a box is $21 on the monthly subscription (discount on longer subs). The value of each box is always well over what you pay. Average value is $100 on the low end, but I have had boxes worth around $150+ in the past.

Every month Boxycharm has a theme. This month the theme for Boxycharm was "Cutie Pie."

This month my box was worth $127! Which is very impressive.
I received 5 full sized products:

1. Colourpop Ultra MAtte Lip in the shade "Beeper" - $6
I actually was extremely happy that I received this, I ADORE the Ultra Matte Lip formula. I was extremely happy that I got a shade I have not purchased on my own yet. The formula is long lasting and transfer proof once dry. If you properly care for your lips the formula should work for you.
*** I actually prefer to use my Lip Revival by Beauty for Real mentioned in another blog post before using these, oh did I mention I got that in Decembers Boxycharm?***

2. Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil - $12
I have not used this on my brows yet, my reason being that when I swatched it, it was a bit light of a color. I have dark hair and dark eyebrows so a light shade is not ideal for me. I also don't really like the triangle shape of it. I will still at least attempt to use it.

3. Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo by BareMinerals - $32
I never used translucent powders, they never seemed to work. But it being 90 degrees out made me give this a chance. I am so glad I received this! It works wonders, my makeup stayed on my face all day. I apply the Matte shade to my nose, forehead, and on my cheek area closest to my nose. This is where I sweat on my face the most. This powder actually made those areas not sweat as bad? Idk if thats a usual result but I LOVE it. I havent really felt the need for the glow side because I like a strong blinding glow, however I suppose I can set my highlight with it!

4. Spray, Set, Go Makeup Setting Spray By Project Beauty- $32
I have tried a few setting sprays and swore they did nothing. I did however try this one. It has a light scent that I kinda like, I am unsure of how to describe it. I used it on a hot humid day and believe it or not my face stayed put all day! It is like freaking magic! I am now one of those girls that sets her face!

5. Electric Eyes Palette by Blinc -$45
This palette has 5 "jewel toned" shades. They are ridiculously pigmented, like I am serious, a little goes a long way! Mine came broken in the mail (due to postal carriers and the shadow being so buttery and soft) Boxycharm will send me a replacement hassle free =]. Anyways this is honestly a very amazing palette to have, but you might want another palette handy if you like combining shimmers with mattes.

These pictures do no justice to how gorgeous and sparkly the Blinc Shadows really are, for that I am sorry, I only had indirect natural lighting available.
